January healthy eating goals have just got easier to achieve with the arrival of Prep Fitness Kitchen.
The new city centre restaurant officially opened on Friday 22nd and they are already winning fans with a menu based around nutrition and packed with superfoods.
Prep Fitness is staffed by clean living evangelists who will happily introduce you to the healthy meals, salads and shakes on the colourful menu. The good news is, it’s very tasty too.
Each food or drink item is labelled in a way that allows you to plan your meal. Symbols flag up benefits like muscle gain, fat loss, energy or recovery. Items are also identified as gluten free or vegan.
Food is listed alongside values for the calories, protein, carbs and fats they contain. You’ll rarely make a more informed decision about lunch.
The idea is to build a meal from different food groups. The main building blocks are the proteins, carbs and vegetable sections. This translates to servings of chicken breast, lean roast beef, cous cous, sweet potato mash, green beans, stringed courgette and other wholesome bites that can be put together.

Elsewhere on the menu you can choose from egg white omelettes, protein pancakes, super salads and “good carb sandwiches”.
You can grab a spot on the benches in the restaurant to enjoy your healthy portion or you can pick up something to go from their protein and juice bar.
In what will no doubt be a popular option, Prep Fitness will also offer a weekly meal plan delivery service for those looking for all-natural meal-times without the cooking, giving you more time that can be spent in the gym!
Right now, Prep Kitchen is a bit of a novelty but is fast attracting a loyal following. Check it out for a feel good vibe and food to give you a healthy glow.
