The Cuisinart 14-cup Food Processor has been setting the standard for years. It has sleek looks and it’s strong as an ox. It’s sturdy, razor sharp, and can tackle a wide variety of kitchen tasks with ease. I got the 7-cup version as a wedding present years ago and I loved it. Upsizing to the 14-cup version is a real treat. This is an investment in a major time saver to . When you scroll down I’ll show you why Cuisinart hit a home run with this food processor, but first, I’m gonna share the best deals on Cuisinart’s best food processors – I’ve found the hottest discounts at Amazon!
Amazon consistently has the lowest prices on the Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor.
Cuisinart has an excellent variety of sizes for this unit and others.
It’s got to be able to handle lots of chopping, processing, and shredding. It should be able to do everything from kneading pizza dough, combining butter or fat into pie crust, chopping up meat to make burgers, whipping up mayonnaise or puree to make dips. You want power and precision. Chopping consistency – same size results, not mush mixed with big chunks. The base should be solid and stay put on the counter while running. On top of that you want a motor that gets the job done quickly and cleanly – or why use a food processor at all, right? The Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor scores high across the board.
Take a look at this video by America’s Test Kitchen. These guys are great with product testing as you’ll see.
First off, other than the metal parts, it’s made of ABS plastic that’s BPA free. Nice to know since the food inside is going to be in contact with it. The design is a modern classic, especially in stainless steel. They kept the functionality simple, which I really like. There are two nice big flippers on the front to turn it on pulse or continuous. Nice and easy. I don’t like a whole lots of buttons and setting on a food processor. It’s over-thinking. This is a straight forward device. Pulse This is a major plus of the Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor. It gives you a lot of control. A short pulse is better than a long one. If the motor keeps running, you don’t have control of how the product is coming out. It also helps toss the contents around more every time you start and stop. The Cuisinart only runs for as long as you press the switch. Some food processors keep going for a couple of seconds and that’s no good. You end up with over processed food or bits that never get circulated tothe bottom where the blades are.
Blade Placement You want to check out the distance between the blades and the bottom and sides of the bowl. The Cuisinart has very small gaps. That makes sure the food has the best chance of coming into the path of the blade rather than getting stuck to the side or bottom.
Feed Tube There’s two size options for feeding food into the machine. You can use the small one if you’re just looking to drizzle oil into an emulsification. The big one is large enough to fit a whole potato. Capacity
Chopping and Shredding This food processor is great at shredding. Cheese, carrots, onions. It cuts cleanly and leaves little to nothing behind. It does a great job at slicing, too. Potatoes get chopped down in a heartbeat – and at a consistent thinkness.
Blade Sharpness This is an easy one to tell. If the blades are dull, they tend to make spattering inside the bowl because the juices inside the food are coming out. Sharp blades cut clean and leave the juices where they belong. Whether it’s something hard like a potato or delicate as a tomato, the Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor has blades that slice clean and consistent. Your bowl will be pretty much dry, too.
Mixing You want to be able to make a pie crust without having plumes of flour coming out of your machine. You also don’t want the flour to get stuck in the lid. The Cuisinart mixes a batch of pie crust cleanly and thoroughly. I haven’t gotten into the whole homemade pizza thing yet, but I’ve seen plenty of sources talk about making pizza dough in this thing. That’s a heavy duty job and it shows the power of the Cuisinart’s motor.
Puree/Sauce The ultimate test of a food processor’s spatial design is making mayonnaise. Some manufacturers use a mini bowl attachment because the standard blade placement doesn’t get close enough to the sides and bottom. They just spin around not even coming in contact with smaller amounts of food like you’d use to make mayo. The Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor can do a two yolk mayo in its regular bowl with no problem.
Blending When you’re trying to blend some tomatoes for a pasta sauce or soup, the last you want is to have a leaking mess on your hands – and all over your counter! This unit has a solid seal at the lid. You shouldn’t have a drop coming out.
Clean Up It has a clean interior that wipes up with ease. It’s got it’s nooks and crannies like all food processors do. The plus side is everything but the base are dishwasher safe and the plastic is solid – this ain’t gonna warp on you.
Here’s a nice demo vid from Cuisinart.
Tech Specs Has a variety of voltages and frequencies. All are indicated on the base of the machine.
Product Support It comes with a limited 3 year warranty. If it does break down and you have to send it to the manufacturer, you have to include a rather annoying $10.00 for shipping and handling – unless you happen to live in California in which case you only need proof of purchase and to call in for shipping instructions.

Final Thoughts This is the food processor. From its solid construction and clean design to it’s power and precision, I love the Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor. It comes with 3 metal and 1 dough blade. They cover pretty much everything you’re likely to need a food processor for. If they don’t Cuisinart also has some specialty blades you can order directly from them. I hope I’ve helped you feel more confident about your choice. The 14-Cup is the one for me, but you can always scroll down and check out some other sizes and styles. I’ve found the best prices on all of them!
