Shamrock Smoothie
Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 0 minutes | Number of Servings: 4 Ingredients • 2 cups chopped kale • 2 large bananas, frozen (see tip below) • 1 pear (fresh or canned in juice) • 1 cup chilled orange juice with calcium Food Safety Tip: If you have over-ripe bananas, store them in the freezer to use in smoothies later. Freeze them whole in their skins; or peel, break into chunks, and freeze in a zip-top freezer bag with 1/2 cup of orange juice to prevent browning. Directions Into blender, place chopped kale, fruit and juice. Turn blender on medium speed until all ingredients are moving; then turn it to high. When kale is well blended, stop blender and pour into serving glasses.
