Let’s face it…it’s WORK to eat clean. It can be especially challenging if looking to eat clean AND reduce body fat. There’s pretty much only ONE WAY this will work. Are you ready for it? Can I get a drum roll please?
{insert drum roll sound here}… REPARATION!!!
I teach this right from the beginning in my N.E.W. online nutrition program and have experienced it personally time and time again. Haven’t you seen those photos on social media of people with fridges full of tupperware containers? The owners of those containers are most likely LEAN…or on their way! It takes work. Although, there are many more food choices available on the go today, when you aren’t prepared in advance it’s nearly impossible to drop the lb’s.
I recently had the opportunity to do research of my own with a small sampling of clients. I’ll start with an example of two woman that I have worked with one on one giving clean eating/nutrition guidance. Both woman lost weight while eating clean but they hadn’t met their goals yet. They both prepared to a certain point, but then didn’t have time in their busy schedules to really prep as needed. Although their mindset and understanding of clean eating had grown and they had lost weight…there was only so much they were willing to give up to reach their goals. Will you give 2+ hours on a Sunday to prep for the week? Not everyone wants to! AND THAT’S OKAY! And it’s understandable. But what if I still want to help those people? At the end of this little experiment, one woman dropped her last 5 lb’s and another is down 15 lb’s and both have kept it off. Without preparation? But how?
Can you say meal replacement? {insert gasp here} This is a dirty word among many in the weight lifting and skeptics in the health community. “We eat real food”…”we chew our food, not drink it”. I respect those opinions. Yes, you do eat solid food and you also spend at least 2+ hours in the kitchen prepping and measuring or an hour every night to be able to eat 6 times a day. And most often, there are protein shakes added into the mix. So how is a meal replacement different? And what about someone that has other priorities in life but still wants to look and feel good? OR you aren’t someone that really needs to try hard to keep weight off and feel good. Praise the higher powers for your genetics and let me have my meal replacement drink in peace. ;-p
Obviously there are many different ways to use a meal replacement. It’s all about the individual. What works for you? What are your goals? You can still eat 5-6 times a day! You may be drinking 2 of those mini meals, but that leaves you with 4 more mini meals to eat!!! A healthy dinner with family can make up one of these meals, and fruit, veggies, lean protein, and healthy carbs cover the rest! It’s not about deprivation it’s about FEELING GOOD! For some of my crazy busy clients the meal replacement has been a HUGE game changer! I’ve been able to help change more lives in the past 3 months than I did all of last year!!! It comes down to clients just feeling better, increased energy, weight loss and time NOT spent in the kitchen!!! As much as I preach about clean eating, if I can add a high quality nutritional supplement to the mix… I’m all for it.
