Below is the outline I wrote before writing and recording my Informative Speech. I chose to give my speech about the benefits of cooking at home.

Why You Should Be Cooking Healthy at Home
I. Easy Meal Prep
Time saver: If you have a limited number of hours home during the week, meal prep for the week on Sunday. Helps save cleanup time too Time spent traveling to/from and inside a restaurant is much greater than cooking/cleaning up at home Cooked food typically keeps for a full week in the refrigerator
II. Portion control
Less of a tendency to eat larger portions which are served in many restaurants Limiting the amount of courses regularly eaten Save food for leftover meals
III. Cost effectiveness
Grocery shopping Eating out is obviously expensive Tendency to eat more and waste leftovers
IV. Organic food vs. GMO
Increased knowledge Buy organic foods from local farmers markets
i. Supporting local economy, cost effective for consumer
Less processed foods in general is a good thing
V. Better diet
Lots of sugar/butter used in restaurants Fulfilling your essential vitamins and minerals each day Variety of diet
VI. ITS FUN
Cooking at home can be turned into a family activity Teaches valuable skills to children Can still be fun and interesting for adults too, always new recipes to try Leads to better experiences in restaurants, novelty of eating out does not wear off
1) growing up with healthy, home cooked meals
2) working in a restaurant, seeing what goes into meals and modifying dishes so that they are healthier (less butter, sugar,etc)
