When and where is the 2016 festival taking place?
April 21-24th 2016. Southminster United Church 15 Aylmer Ave., Ottawa (at Bank Street)
What are the festival hours?
Thursday and Friday: Doors open at 7pm – Performances start at 7:30pm – 11pm. Saturday: Doors open at 10:30am. The daytime programming ends at 5pm. There is a break from 5-7:15pm. Doors re-open at 7pm. Evening performance will go to 11pm at the latest. Sunday: Doors open at 10:30am. Workshops and daytime programming end at 5pm.

How much do tickets cost?
Prices for evening performances and the festival pass are not currently available. We will share that with you asap. All daytime performances and workshops are free!
Is there a special price for children?
Children 15 years and younger will be admitted for free, when accompanied by an adult.
Are tickets available on site?
Tickets will be available for purchase on site.
Is the festival venue accessible?
The venue has an elevator that will access all floors and entrances have ramps.
There is very limited accessible parking on site.
Wheelchair accessible washroom located near Aylmer Ave entrance.
Will there be designated accessible seating area at the stages?
There will be a place in the front row for those who use wheelchairs or scooters. Those who bring along guide dogs will also be accommodated.

Will there be signage to direct people around the festival site?
While there will be signage to direct people, an important role for volunteers is that of ‘ambassador.’ There will be greeters at the entrance to offer guidance and assistance if needed.

Are there ATMs?
No there are no ATMs.
Where can I get something to eat, while at the festival?
There are many restaurants nearby. Check back closer to the festival for more information.
Is the festival licensed?
We will let you know, as soon as we get confirmation.
Can I bring my own food and beverages?
You are permitted to bring food items and non-alcoholic beverages.
Can I take photographs or videos while I’m there?
Photographs taken at the Ottawa Grassroots Festival may not be used for any commercial purpose.
It is important that you respect other audience members and the artists by using discretion while shooting and photos must be for personal use only. If an artist has requested that no photos be taken of them, security or media volunteers may alert you.
Detachable lens cameras will not be permitted onsite. All other non-professional cameras will be permitted. Please refrain from using a flash, during the performances. It can be very distracting.
Can I use video or audio recording devices?
It is not permitted due to artist copyright issues. Ottawa Grassroots Festival reserves the right to take photographs/video of guests while on site at the Festival premises to be used for commercial or promotional purposes.
How can I volunteer?
Here are some things we can use your help with: food preparation, sales (food, pin and CDs), surveys, drivers, signage, green room prep, volunteer check-in, set-up /tear-down work and the silent action. If you are interested or know of anyone who might be interested in volunteering for OGF, contact us through the e-mail on the volunteer page of the website. We will love hear from you.
What kids’ activities are there?
There are a number of workshops for kids. We will post more info when the daytime schedule is publicized.

Please do not bring your pet. Service animals are welcome.
What is so unique about OGF?
We are proud to be officially a not-for-profit festival, which is organized entirely by dedicated volunteers. OGF’s mission statement: “Cultivating Community” says it all. Volunteers, sponsors, artists and festival patrons celebrate, share and learn together in a barrier-free environment.

Do you accept submissions? How can my band/artist play the festival?

Is there parking available on-site or nearby?
There is no on-site parking. Parking is available on side streets. Pay parking lots are located nearby at TD Place.
What accommodations are available for the festival patrons?
Capital Hill Hotel and Suites, a first-class hotel in downtown Ottawa, 88 Albert St., is the Official hotel of the Ottawa Grassroots Festival. /
