Welcome to Friends and Food Wednesday! I am so glad you are here. If you are new, this hop happens every second Wednesday of each month. At the end of this post you will find other great recipes, from some fellow bloggers. I hope you will take the time to check them out as well. This month we are focusing on Spring Vegetable dishes.
When I think of Spring I think new life, open windows and planting seeds. On top of all that, the grocery stores are starting to fill up with lots of great seasonal vegetables. A favorite in our household is Asparagus. Hard to believe since both my husband and I did not grow up eating them. When I first married and started shopping for groceries, I would see Asparagus and see it as a foreign, but intriguing thing. I had no idea how to cook it or even if it was worth learning how.
Early in our marriage I had the great opportunity to take a few cooking classes. I didn’t come out of the classes a world class chief, or even an average home cook, but I did come out of the classes with a great sense of confidence in trying new things. I didn’t shy away from new recipes or ingredients anymore. Shortly after these classes I decided to give asparagus a shot. That first time eating them was awesome. Since then, I have learned a thing or two and want to share with you the simple way that we serve asparagus in our home. If you are new to asparagus I hope this simple recipe will help you feel confident in trying them. You won’t regret it.
