We have created an inviting and safe place where your dog can experience the fun and benefits of warm water swimming, aquatic exercises, aqua-ssage and dry land massage.
Prior to your pool session or massage: – You will be required to bring your dog for an Initial Assessment – Please have your vet referral form filled out and bring it with your (or have your vet email it to us) – Groom your dog and have their nails short and smooth by trimming several days before your visit – Make sure your dog hasn’t eaten a meal within 3 hours prior to your visit -Give your dog time to attend to his bathroom needs before arrival. Kindly remember to “poop and scoop” – If your dog has an “accident” in the pool, there will be a $150 charge for disinfection – It is important not to exercise your dog the day of his visit- allow the swim/massage to replace that part of his daily exercise regime – Remember to bring towels to dry your dog if he is having an aquatics session – Your allotted time includes time getting into the pool and exiting the facility – We accept payment in the form of cash or cheque – We ask for 24 hours notice if you have to cancel so we can fill yourtime slot with another dog, if you fail to give us such notice, we will charge you for the missed appointment
Upon arrival for your session and during your visit: -Check in with us before you bring your dog in to make sure no other dogs are leaving the facility (some dogs are not comfortable with other dogs) – If your dog is here for an aquatics session, we will take them up to the deck and ask you to stay on the “flat” beside the pool. Dogs will swim towards their people and we find the interactive aspect very helpful with the over-all process – We encourage you to bring your dog’s favourite floaty toy and treats. These are great incentives to encourage their response in the pool. – For safety, we ask that your dog remain on a leash at all times, both inside and outside of the facility
Post pool session: -Feel free to use the blow dryer at the drying station in the room behind the pool. It’s important to continue to dry your dog at home and to replace wet bedding to prevent skin irritations – During the winter months, we suggest you have warm, dry blankets and or towels in the car for him to lay on – Your dog may have to use the washroom after his session, before loading him up in the car – After the pools session, your dog may be tired and rest is good, however to prevent stiffness and lactic acid build up it’s important to ensure gently and frequent movement be encouraged several times an hour for the rest of that day, and the next – Pay close attention to your dog for the next 48 hours, looking for changes in behaviour, gait, eating or sleeping patters. Please make us aware of any changes, allowing us to adjust the plan for your next session – If you have any questions or concerns, please call or email us
