Current Volunteer Opportunities
Samaritan House relies on volunteers in every facet of our programming. Volunteer service defines our core value of Neighbor helping Neighbor.
We have a list of programs that have volunteer opportunities below. If you see an opportunity that fits, click this link to apply.
Prepare food in the kitchen or give out groceries in the pantry, or sign up to do both. We need volunteers Monday-Friday from 9-12. Help prepare the more than 600 meals and pack the more than 12,000 bags of groceries we give out every year. –
Help get food to our Safe Harbor Shelter in South San Francisco residents on Saturdays and Sundays. Volunteers use their own vehicles and the shelter is a 24 –mile round trip from Samaritan House and the delivery takes about one hour, and can be done between 3-4 pm. –
Get involved assisting our families. Greet clients, answer the phone, conduct surveys, translate and learn more about how we help by helping out. Mon-Friday 9-5, three months commitment. Bi-lingual in Spanish is highly desirable.
Our free clinics in San Mateo and Redwood City, are in need of registered dental hygienists, dentists, doctors, nurses, and medical assistants to volunteer Monday through Saturday. Click on the links to apply.

Samaritan House is committed to providing high quality community service opportunities. We consider this as a way to build relationships between our volunteers and the families we serve. We require a 20-hour commitment over a three-month period.
We are not able to accommodate court-ordered community service.
Currently we have openings for donation sorting Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 9 am and 5pm and Thursday between 9am and 1 pm. Please fill out our application form and our volunteer coordinator will contact you.
