Courntey Cronin – Bikini Competitor

“When I started prep for this Fall 2014 season, I came to the sudden and enjoyable realization that my daily caloric intake was double that of the start of my prep 2 years ago. Working with Joe for almost 6 months before I started contest prep, we had gotten my body healthy, happy, and strong. The last time I competed I was consuming under 1,200 calories and doing 90 minutes of cardio each day. When the season ended, my body and mind were simply weak. It took 2 years of real life events, changes, consistency, and success to reach a point where I was ready to embark on a journey to the stage once again. I can say confidently that I felt TRUE hunger maybe twice this prep and that was probably because I had forgotten to pack a meal! I am certainly not saying it was easy- I experienced cravings and was very, very consistent with meals, training, and proper food choices. Not always easy but much preferable over hunger! I have heard some individuals voice the mindset that feeling good inprep means that it’s not working, that it’s not as disciplined, or as “hard core” as their method. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but what I do know is that this method allowed me to have the energy and flexibility to earn a promotion, run around with a new puppy, dance at weddings, and attend baby showers while in prep and still look the best I ever have onstage. To have a coach that understood and promoted these feelings of energy, happiness, and productivity in prep was incredible. Joe shares the belief that while this sport is a serious passion, an individual’s body is far too important and special to be mistreated. Whenever I had a question, needed advice, or simply had a thought, Joe was there to listen and guide. His fast response time to my inquiries was astounding and made me feel like a person- not just a client or number. This mutual respect, combined with the factors mentioned above, made this experience incredible and a journey that I am happy and proud to continueon.”
