It is up to you to take thehealthy option if you want to! Other Japanese Cheap food Co-co Icihiban- This a Japanese curry restaurant, with many outlets in Nagoya. It is probably the best quality of the cheap eateries in japan. A decent quality green salad costs just 180yen, and a half sized curry costs just 380yen (with a free soft drink). It is then up to you if you want to add cutlets to your dish. They will fry just about anything in breadcrumbs! (Japanese) Matsuya– super cheap noodles and meat, under 500yen. Sugakiya– super cheap noodles, under 500yen. Yoshinoya– super cheap noodles and meat, under 500yen. Oshou- This a chain of cheap Chinese restaurants. A bowl of fried rice is only 360yen. You can recognize them by the white sign with red letters. They also do takeaway service. More options- most big railway stations and shopping malls have cheap noodle, katsu and ramen restaurants. If there is plastic food displayed in the window, it is usually a sign that the meal will cost less than1,000yen. Delivery Food There are many pizza chains in Nagoya, but few of them can actually create a decent pizza and the prices are so high that this shouldn’t really be in the cheap eating section. One is to the North of the TV tower, in the ‘Blossa’ center Mosburger– a Japanese fast food outlet-bit more expensive. Lotteria- Hamburger chain- really cheap. First Kitchen– Hamburger chain- really cheap. – one shop in Nagoya. Wendy’s– are no longer operating in Japan Family Restaurants These places are usually off main roads, and have ‘drink bar’ service (unlimited soft drinks and coffee). They also tend to be open 24 hours. The most common dish is the hamburg ‘steak’, although they do serve real steaks as well. When they say family restaurants they mean exactly that- expect lots of noisy kids in the early hours. – steaks, etc – steaks, etc steaks, etc. It has a TOTALLY different menu to the American version, so if you are expecting Philly Melts, T-bone steak and big apple pies then prepare to be disappointed. Denny’s Japan has lower calorie soups, steaks with rice and ‘hamburg’ steaks. Everything is lower in calories, including the desserts. – Cheap Italian food. Pizzas for under 500 yen, and it really isn’t that bad quality either! – Chinese food. Big menu. Coffee
