I recently found these AMAZING Arrowhead 3L waters at the grocery store for $1. I had been stocking up on water, and I realized they stack perfectly on top of each other! So exciting to me (boring life? maybe). Seriously, stack them in the corner of your closet or in your garage. These are huge space savers (is that an oxymoron? yes). Anyway, I was reading about storing dry food in PETE bottles and thought these would be perfect to store dry foods in. I emptied the bottles and dried them really well. Then, I filled them with beans and bought some oxygen absorbers. They apparently will last about 5 years.
